A Dreamy Beach Proposal at Montage Laguna Beach

There’s nothing quite like the magic of a well-planned proposal, especially when it takes place on the shores of Laguna Beach. As a Southern California lifestyle photographer, moments like these are so special to document: the raw emotion, the natural beauty, and the love that unfolds in real time.

Chris planned the most beautiful surprise for Chanel, choosing the iconic Montage Laguna Beach as the setting. With a stunning floral arrangement set up between the rocks, he popped the question on the sand as the sun dipped low-an unforgettable moment I had the honor of capturing from a distance.

Afterward, we stayed on the beach for a relaxed mini shoot, soaking in the post-proposal bliss and documenting the joy between them. As a Southern California engagement and proposal photographer, these in-between moments are where the emotion really shines.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Back at The Loft restaurant at Montage, Chris & Chanel’s family were waiting to celebrate. The dinner was beautifully curated, full of laughter, toasts, and so much love. Being able to document the full story-from proposal to intimate celebration-felt incredibly special.
